Hello…and thanks for your comment. According to the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) “Guide to Healthy Cleaning,” Seventh Generation’s Laundry Packs do not contain limonene (http://www.ewg.org/guides/cleaners/5861-SeventhGenerationNaturalLaundryDetergentPacksFreeClear)—and the Free&Clear Packs also receive an “A” rating from EWG, which means “Lowest Concern: Few/no known or suspected hazards to health or the environment. Good ingredient disclosure.” The scented Mandarin & Sandalwood Packs receive a “B” rating from EWG, which means “Low Concern: Limited potential for hazards to health or the environment. At least some ingredient disclosure.” Additionally, according to EWG, Limonene is not shown to be a carcinogen (http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ingredient/702113/LIMONENE/#). We’d love to see links to any studies you know of with differing information. Thanks!

I love seventh generation! I am passionate about green cleaning. There is no guilt in getting my kids to help out, either. It’s not harmful for them.
