GET Partners With EPA

Green Earth Technologies, Inc., a producer of green, “environmentally safer” products, partnered earlier this year with the EPA’s Design for the Environment (DfE) Program. As part of the agreement, according to a release from the company, “GET’s line of G-CLEAN™ ultimately biodegradable, highly effective, yet safer chemistry products have been recognized by the DfE for its minimized risk to users and to the environment.” As a result of the partnership, the G-CLEAN line-up will display the DfE logo.

According to Jeffrey Loch, president and CMO of Green Earth Technologies, “The EPA believes that cleaning product formulators can improve the environmental and health profile by using ingredients that are inherently less toxic, less bioaccumulative and that degrade to substances with similar desirable characteristics. The DfE program sets the bar very high with stringent guidelines and testing criteria before they recognize a product and we are proud to have achieved this prestigious designation, joining them in this admirable effort.”

As explained in the announcement, the EPA’s DfE label is awarded after the agency’s independent research laboratory has screened each ingredient contained in a product and found them to be the safest and greenest among all chemicals in their class. DfE, which began in 1992, is a voluntary partnership program of the EPA.

“This is especially appropriate for our line of G-CLEAN™ outdoor pressure washer cleaners,” Mr. Loch added.  “The safer chemistry highlighted by DfE has always been a part of our heritage and we will continue to move more products through the testing criteria.”
